Over the summer this youth intern position will focus on learning about housing resources, doing outreach at community events and supporting families in need within the scope of the program.

  • Founded in 2020 by BuCu West and West Denver Renaissance Collaborative (DHA), the West Denver Community Connector (WDCC) program initially responded to COVID-19's housing crisis. It formalized a decade-long informal support network of local leaders ("Connectors"). Leveraging their deep community ties, the Connectors assisted over 1,000 mostly Spanish-speaking households with rental aid, even influencing city policy. Post-pandemic, WDCC empowers these leaders with ongoing training to address diverse needs beyond housing, like food and legal aid, for vulnerable Latinx and undocumented individuals facing access barriers. WDCC utilizes bilingual resources, community meetings, a hotline, and in-person support at BuCu West to connect the community with vital assistance programs.
