A Buzz of Activity at Blossom House: Lifespan Local’s Hub for Community Activation
Since opening its doors in fall 2024, Blossom House—headquarters of the nonprofit Lifespan Local—has transformed into a vibrant gathering place for Southwest Denver residents. What began as a quiet new facility has quickly blossomed into a dynamic neighborhood hub, with community groups, local entrepreneurs, and nonprofits activating nearly every corner of the building.

Community Events
“Every week feels different,” says guest services coordinator Zoe Gomes, who helps coordinate space usage at Blossom House. “We now have community members coming in every day—people curious about what’s happening, looking to get involved, or even hosting events of their own.”
Community Programming
Over the summer, the space has hosted a wide range of programming. Community member Norma, whose son recently graduated from the University of Denver, held his graduation celebration at Blossom House in June. That same month, local wellness entrepreneur Yoli Casas of ViVe Wellness ran a three-week youth camp that combined arts programming with cooking classes, giving children hands-on experience in both creative and culinary expression.
Ongoing youth programming has continued with The Athena Project, a nonprofit focused on fostering the artistic talents of girls and non-binary youth. Their three-week summer camp at Blossom House includes tracks in fashion design, stand-up comedy, and playwriting, each culminating in a parent-attended showcase in the building’s sanctuary room.
The Nabi Youth Space
Activation continues in the building’s NABI Youth Space, which runs drop-in hours for teens ages 12 and up. This summer’s offerings have included Bug Club, robotics with LEGO kits, podcasting workshops, and a crochet and cookie-baking class lineup designed to keep local youth engaged, curious, and connected.
Therapeutic services
Therapeutic services are also now offered at Blossom House. Local mental health practice La Cocina has leased four offices on the upper floor, providing culturally-affirmation counseling for children and adults in the Latine community.
Office Spaces
The building has reached full occupancy, with offices leased by attorneys from Del Pueblo Law and ViVe Wellness practitioners. Colorado Dream Foundation staff are hard at work in their spaces, with students arriving onsite in August and September, and Mile High Learning will open its Blossom House door on August 1.
Lena Archuleta branch of the Denver Public Library
As programming expands and interest grows, anticipation is also building for the upcoming opening of the Lena Archuleta branch of the Denver Public Library. “People are so excited,” Gomes shared. “They see the building as something special—and they want to be a part of it.”
