Nabi Youth Afterschool Program Internship
Pay: $23.00 per hour | Hours: 15 hours per week | Duration: October 2026-May 2027

Position Summary
About Nabi
Nabi is a youth-focused afterschool program dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging space where young people can learn, build relationships, develop new skills, and thrive. Through enrichment activities, mentorship, community building, and hands-on programming, Nabi helps students grow, learn, build community, and develop a sense of belonging.
The Nabi Youth Program Internship provides hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day operations of our youth program. Interns will work alongside Nabi staff to prepare and maintain the program space, manage attendance and basic program records, support students during activities and transitions, and assist with social media and communications. This role offers practical experience in youth programming, nonprofit operations, community engagement, and digital media.
Schedule
Approximately 15 hours per week
After-school availability is required
Work hours will be scheduled around Nabi's afterschool program.
Occasional availability for special events, school breaks, family events, or program activities may be requested with advance notice
Academic credit may be available through the student's college or university. Lifespan Local is happy to work with students and academic departments to support internship credit requirements.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary throughout the semester based on program schedules, student needs, and special projects, and may include:
Program Operations & Set-Up
Preparing the program space before students arrive
Setting up supplies, snacks, materials, games, activities, and learning spaces
Organizing and restocking program supplies and materials
Helping maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and youth-friendly environment
Assisting with transitions between activities and program periods
Supporting staff with day-to-day program logistics
Helping prepare for special events, workshops, and other program activities
Student Support
Welcoming students and helping create a positive and inclusive program environment
Supporting students during activities, homework time, recreation, and enrichment programming
Building positive relationships with students
Encouraging student participation and engagement
Assisting students with navigating the program space and daily routines
Helping staff maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
Serving as a positive role model for participating youth
Attendance & Program Records
Taking and maintaining daily student attendance
Assisting with sign-in/sign-out procedures and student tracking
Social Media & Communications
Supporting Nabi's social media presence and digital communications
Capturing appropriate photos and videos of program activities in accordance with organizational policies and required permissions
Creating social media content highlighting student activities, events, projects, and program accomplishments
Assisting with drafting captions, posts, stories, and other digital content
Maintaining a positive, professional, and youth-centered voice across social media platforms
Community & Program Support
Assisting with youth workshops, enrichment activities, and community events
Helping with special projects and seasonal programming
Participating in team meetings and staff trainings as requested
Performing additional duties as assigned to support Nabi's programs and operations

Preferred Qualifications
Current college enrollment in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Youth Development, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
Interest in youth development, education, community programs, or nonprofit work
Interest or experience in social media, photography, videography, graphic design, or digital communications
Experience using social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or similar platforms
Desire to pursue a career working with youth, in education, nonprofit organizations, communications, or community programming
Required Qualifications
