The Forest Within on View at Blossom House
Lifespan Local is excited to announce its first art show at Blossom House, exhibited in a space specially designed for showing artwork by community members. Local Westwood artist Arturo García is bringing his Dream Studio series to the community in an exhibition titled The Forest Within. Previously shown at the Denver Art Museum, García’s exhibit focuses on trees, wildlife, and the connections between humans and nature.
At the free opening reception, on April 10th from 6 to 7:30 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to listen to music and poetry, engage with interactive demonstrations, and have educational experiences designed for art-lovers of all ages. The show also celebrates local culinary talent, with food and beverages provided by Edwin Sandoval/Xatrucho.
Presented in partnership with the Denver Public Library, the City Forester, and the Park People, complementary activities will offer unique insights into trees, heritage, and local history, adding meaningful context to the artwork on display. This collaboration emphasizes Blossom House’s commitment to blending creativity, community engagement, and education.
Lifespan Local executive director Lydia Prado describes the exhibit as “all about lifting a person’s spirit. With this exhibition, we’re celebrating each other, history, creativity, and art, and building hope for our future.”
The Forest Within opening event is an opportunity to experience art in a welcoming and interactive environment. Lifespan Local invites everyone to come and explore, create, and celebrate what makes Westwood such a vibrant community.
