About Lifespan Local

Lifespan Local is a fast-moving, innovative, and community-driven organization dedicated to supporting families, youth, and sustainable community initiatives. This summer, we are offering young adults ages 18–25 the opportunity to gain professional work experience through an 8-week paid internship program.


About the Internship

Schedule: June 8, 2026 – August 7 , 2026
Compensation: $6,000 stipend for successful completion of the program
Duration: 8 weeks
Eligibility: Young adults ages 18–25


About The Application Process

Interns will be placed within one of three teams based on interest, experience, and organizational needs. The ideal candidates are collaborative, hardworking, disciplined, self-motivated, and demonstrate appreciation for diverse cultures and languages. Bilingual applicants who speak English and one of the following languages are strongly encouraged to apply: Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, or Arabic (preferred but not required).

  • Depending on placement, interns may support a wide range of projects and activities, including:

    • Supporting community diaper distributions 

    • Assisting mothers and children during Alma Kids and other summer events 

    • Helping coordinate logistics and preparation for monthly events 

    • Organizing and maintaining supplies and materials 

    • Assisting with workshop and material setup in youth space

    • Entering and maintaining data in organizational databases 

    • Supporting community programs and projects focused on hydroponics, sustainability, and urban farming 

    • Creating marketing materials such as flyers, graphics, and social media posts 

    • Attending community events alongside Lifespan Local team members

  • Applicants should be:

    • Ages 18-25

    • Organized, enthusiastic, and dependable 

    • Self-motivated and team-oriented 

    • Open to learning and personal growth 

    • Comfortable working in community-based environments 

    • Additional requirements:

    • Ability to pass a background check 

    • Eligibility for employment in the United States 

    • Availability for the full 8-week program 

Lifespan Local Internship Focus Areas

Alma Project for Maternal Mental Health
ALMA is a free, community-based, peer-mentor program that provides home visits and support to families who are expecting or raising children ages 0–3. The program also offers weekly diaper distributions and access to a community boutique.

Interns supporting ALMA may assist with family support activities, event coordination, community outreach, and distribution efforts.

Nabi Youth Program
The Nabi Youth Program provides a safe and welcoming youth space for SW Denver students. Through engaging activities, workshops, games, and educational opportunities, youth are connected to meaningful resources and positive community experiences.

Interns may assist with activity planning and implementation, youth engagement, setup and cleanup, and daily operations within the youth space.

Hydroponic Farm

Supporting the daily operations of Lifespan Local’s hydroponic farm and greenhouse. Interns will assist with harvesting, planting, packaging, food safety, environmental monitoring (light, temperature, humidity, airflow, water quality), cleaning and sanitation, inventory and production tracking, and general farm organization.
