About the Organization
Work Options empowers individuals from historically excluded backgrounds to build sustainable careers in the food service industry. For over 27 years, we’ve offered culinary skills training, life-skills courses, job search support, and individualized assistance—all designed to help people overcome barriers to employment.
Whether navigating the justice system, facing housing insecurity, or simply needing more workplace experience, our strength-based approach helps students build confidence, competency, and purpose. Through our pre-apprenticeship program and social ventures—like The Helping Hen Cafe and food truck—graduates gain hands-on training while contributing to their community.
At Work Options, we nourish communities using food as a force for good—feeding those facing hunger and creating opportunity through craftsmanship, dignity, and hope.
